Recall Alert: Berkley & Jensen Full-Cut Pig Ears
BJ's Wholesale Club has issued a recall of "Berkley & Jensen Full-Cut Pig Ears" in a 25 pack and bearing the expiration "BEST IF USED BY 2009" because they are possibly infected with Salmonella.
If you have purchased this item between 1/1/2006 and 3/8/2007, you should stop using it immediately and return any unused portion to a BJ’s Wholesale Club for a full refund. If you have given this item to your dog and your dog has symptoms of Salmonella exposure, you should contact your veterinarian. The main symptom is Diarrhea that may contain blood or mucus. Other symptoms of Salmonella exposure in dogs include:
- Fever
- Seems more tired than usual
- Possible vomiting
- Decreased appetite
- Excess salivation
Salmonella can potentially be transferred to people handling these dog treats, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the product or any surfaces exposed to these products.
